Group Study Programmes

Edinburgh College has a long history of providing English language programmes, and is one of the largest and most established centres of English language teaching in Scotland. Our staff are well qualified and have experience in working with students from all over the world. The College is accredited by the British Council for the teaching of English in the UK, ensuring that our teaching is of the highest standard.

The College offers tailor-made courses for groups of 10 or more students at any time of the year. The College has a wide field of expertise, and we can design a course to reflect this in terms of:

  •  English Language classes
  • Special interest classes / visits
  • Social programme
  • Accommodation and catering
  • Travel arrangements
  •  In-country delivery

Bespoke Programmes

You may have a group of students with a specific interest or project focus: we can tailor-make a course just for them. What about General English and Tourism, or British Culture and History, or English and Music? The College has a wide field of expertise, and we can design a course to reflect this in terms of:

  •  Language requirement
  •  Project work
  •  Social programme
  •  Accommodation
  •  Travel arrangements

Bespoke courses can be provided for groups of students aged 16 years and above.

Some groups may have a specific interest or project focus, and additional activities can be included to meet these requirements. Edinburgh College offers a wide range of courses in different curriculum areas, and some groups may wish to combine their English Language studies with additional classes in a different subject such as Business, Tourism, Hospitality, Engineering, Multimedia or Photography. Groups who are considering further study in the UK may wish to incorporate a visit to a university campus, or experience a sample lecture from a visiting university lecturer.

Social Programme

We recommend that groups make the most of their study visit to Edinburgh by including a social programme, which gives students the opportunity to visit places of historical and cultural importance in and around the city. Example visits include Edinburgh Castle, the National Museum of Scotland or the Botanical Gardens; an evening of traditional Scottish music and dance; or full-day excursions to visit other parts of Scotland such as St Andrews, Stirling, or Glasgow and Loch Lomond.

Accommodation

As well as providing homestay opportunities for groups, we may also be able to arrange residential accommodation, depending on availability.
