The Summer School is based at Edinburgh College's Sighthill Campus, which is located approximately 20 minutes by bus or tram from the city centre. The Sighthill Campus has recently undergone a campus redevelopment, which has created state-of-the-art learning spaces to suit a modern college environment. Facilities within the Sighthill Campus include a library, cafeteria, two coffee bars, prayer rooms, computer rooms, a sports centre, a music performance centre, Enterprise centre and campus-wide WiFi access.
The Learning Centre
The Learning Centre has desktop computers and study spaces. You can use your own laptop to connect to the Internet via the College's wifi network. The centre can also be used to undertake private or group based study, carry out small group work, attend tutorials and workshops or conduct research using the Internet.
The library is located on the second floor and is open Monday – Friday. With a wide range of books, journals and other publications, it is a useful resource to use during your studies and a peaceful place to work. The library also has some computing facilities which can be used to access information on the Internet.
You can buy hot and cold food and drinks in the college cafeteria. The cafeteria is also known as a refectory, which is situated on the ground floor. There is a counter where you can buy main meals, with a choice of various types of food including vegetarian and halal options.
Part of the new development at our Sighthill Campus, this is a large social space for students to relax between classes.
Centre for Sport and Exercise
In January 2011, a brand new purpose-built Centre for Sport and Exercise opened at the Sighthill Campus, which is here to provide staff and students with access to affordable fitness equipment and classes, whether you want to get fit on your own or as part of a group.
