Student scholarships are provided from time to time when a business provides a scholarship to a student to support their time at college along with work experience, mentoring and/or shadowing opportunities. This is a fantastic opportunity for students to get real-life experience as well as a grant to help them during their time at college.
The following scholarships are currently available or will be available very soon.
David Doig Foundation STEM scholarship 2019/20
The selected candidate will work on the college’s STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) project with p7, S1 and S2 pupils based at the Midlothian Campus and at the schools. The STEM project aims to encourage young people, especially girls, to consider a career in engineering.
Remuneration: £1,900 per academic year, paid monthly based on working each Thursday in term time for a fixed term from December 2019 to June 2020.
Closing date: Friday 6 December 2019
This new scholarship has been donated by the David Doig Foundation and is funded in memory of David Doig, an alumnus of Telford College (one of the previous colleges that merged to create Edinburgh College).
