Course Overview
-
This course is appropriate if you need an IELTS score of 6 or more to allow you to access university or to register with the General Medical Council. The course aims to help you improve by half an IELTS band level over a semester. You will focus on developing your English language skills and learning techniques for the IELTS exam - this covers the reading, writing, listening and speaking papers.  You will be expected to buy the course materials as specified by your tutor (approximately £45). The IELTS exam fee (approximately £160) is not included in the cost of the course.

  • IELTS 5.5/Cambridge First Certificate B pass/ESOL Intermediate 2/National 5 SQA or equivalent

How the course is assessed

  • The course is internally assessed. It is possible to take the external IELTS exam at the end of the course

  • You will be invited for a test and interview where your language level and suitability for the course will be checked
