Course Overview

Creative Sound Engineering is an evening class designed for those aspiring to work as a sound engineer or technician. Explore the technical and creative aspects of the industry in Edinburgh College’s state-of-the-art facilities as you are taught by highly qualified and experienced sound engineers. 

Discover the basics of a sound studio as you develop skills in studio techniques and record live bands in a professional atmosphere. Immerse yourself in the music industry and learn what it takes to be successful in this competitive and innovative industry. You will learn how to record your own music to a professional standard on industry software and experiment with sound production. Work completed in this class will contribute to your personal portfolio which can be used when applying for jobs or further study of sound engineering at a higher level.

Entry Requirements

  • No formal entry requirements but an interest in music and a basic understanding of using a computer are essential

  • A basic grasp of the English language is recommended
