Course Overview

This brand new course provides an ideal insight for anyone who has an interest in special effects make-up.

This 16-week course in Semester 1 and 9 week course in Semester 2  provides candidates with a basic knowledge of special effects make-up, focusing on practical activity, research skills and portfolio building. With no formal entry qualification requirements, this ‘Introduction to Special Effects course’ is suitable for a wide range of candidates from school leavers to adult learners who wish to gain entry into the special effects industry.

This is the perfect choice for learners who might have full-time work or family commitments. We cover bruising, minor wounds, scars, open wounds and burns. This course is a great starting point for an insight into the world of special effects or could be a stepping stone onto one of our full-time courses

  • 6.15-8.30 One evening per week  Wednesday.
  • Self-directed Study via the college Moodle page.
  • You will be set tasks and research to complete that can be uploaded to Moodle.
