Course overview

This course is only avalaible for individuals who live in East and Midlothian council areas.

This course is centred around applying numerical skills in personal, workplace, social, and educational situations that involve graphical information, calculations, and solving problems. The focus of the course is on transferable numeracy skills - using number skills, understanding and using graphs, tables, charts, and diagrams.

The course will be delivered across 8 weeks at 6hrs per week. We anticipate running this course two times during the contract year.

 

What you will learn

  • Numeracy (SCQF level 5).

How the course is assessed

  • Ongoing assessment via portfolio work.

Number of days per week

  • 2 days per week for 3 hours over 8 weeks (Monday and Friday) 
  • 1 evening per week (Tuesday) for 3 hours (from October 2023)

Entry requirements

  • No formal entry criteria is required.
