Edinburgh College and Steer celebrate new partnership during Scottish Apprenticeship Week

Edinburgh College and Steer Edinburgh are celebrating a new partnership which sees apprentices from Steer complete the assessment part of their training at the College’s Sighthill Campus.

Steer, one of the country’s leading automotive repair businesses, is located within the Sighthill area and is currently employing four Accident Repair and Paint apprentices undergoing their training as part of the partnership.

Kai McMillan and Daniele Tocco, who previously completed the College’s Future Skills Vehicle Accident Repair and Routine Maintenance programme, are joined at Steer by fellow trainees Callum Fraser and Sam Donn.

Throughout their apprenticeship, the students will work at Steer's body and paint repair shop to learn the skills and techniques required to forge a career in the industry, as well as spending time with College lecturers to underpin that training with further skills lessons, project work and assessments.

We are proud to be working alongside Steer Edinburgh to deliver apprenticeships in Vehicle Body Repair and Paint. It is fantastic to see another sector leading business investing in the future of our industry by training new apprentices. We look forward to continuing our work with Steer to develop a pipeline of new talent in our industry.
