Additional Support
A range of additional support may be available to you depending on your circumstances and chosen course. 

Part-Time Fee Grant
A part-time fee grant may be awarded by SAA S for eligible students who on advanced courses who earn £25,000 a year or less. Call 0300 300 3137 or visit www.saas.gov.uk/part_time/ug/ to find out more and download an application form.

Changes to ILA Funding
ILA is getting a refresh over summer 2017. During this time the existing scheme will be closed to new applications for a few months.
The revised scheme will come into effect in October 2017 and will be called an Individual Training Account (ITA). If you are eligible then you will still be entitled to funding of up to £200 per year towards a course. 
The differences are that you will only be able to do one course in any learner year and that courses will be geared towards helping you with getting a job or progressing in your career.
Some key dates if you want to open an account or renew an expired account:
  • 29 April 2017: Last day to request a renewal form through the SDS helpline on 0800 917 8000
  • 30 April 2017: Last day to request an application form on My World of Work
  • Mid May 2017: Application and renewal forms need to be returned by mid-May so that they can be processed by 31 May
  • 31 May 2017: Last day that an account will be opened or renewed
If you want to book a course under the existing ILA scheme:
  • 31 August 2017: Last day bookings can be made under the existing ILA scheme. Bookings can only be made for courses with a start date no later than 30 September 2017


Loans
If you are studying for an HNC or HND, you may be eligible to apply for a student loan. You can get general information from SAAS www.saas.gov.uk or for personal advice, please check with a student services advisor.

Childcare
You may be able to claim help towards the costs of registered childcare while you are at the College. If you are studying an HNC or HND, you will need to know that you've taken full entitlement from the Student Awards Agency Scotland (SAAS). Please refer to the Funding Information booklet for more details.

Discretionary Funds
Help may be available from the higher education hardship fund or the further education hardship fund, for those in greatest need. Priority will be given to those who need financial help most. For more details, please speak to a student services advisor.

Expenses
Students under 18 on full-time courses below HNC level can be considered for essential kit and travel costs (if out with a 2mile radius of the campus they attend) regardless of parental income.

Other Support
There is a range of benefits and credits which may be available for certain students including living and travelling expenses. For full details, contact our advisors.
