Course Overview

Skills Boost for Childcare is an exciting new course that has been developed to allow you the opportunity to see if education and career in childcare are right for you. It is a 3-week course that will allow you to gain the confidence, skills and knowledge so you can progress on to a full-time course in childhood practice. You will develop your core skills including ICT while using a variety of engaging online learning activities.

If you are in receipt of Universal credit your benefit will remain in place throughout the duration of this short course..
This course will also run in May and June, so if you have missed out on this application process or are unable to interview on the dates indicated above you will have another opportunity to apply.

The course is funded by the Young Persons Guarantee and Transitional Training Fund and is free for you to do.

Information on Test/Auditions/Interview Requirements

Interviews will be arranged for you on 19 April 2021. You will be interviewed by a staff member of Edinburgh College and the interviews will be held on Microsoft teams (please let the college know if you have an issue with accessing Microsoft teams).

This course will be the start on the 26th of April and will be the beginning of your learning journey and provide a pathway to a full-time course in Childcare.
