Student Stories

Patricia studied on the Beginner and Post-Beginner German course. Here is what she said about her experience:

''I cannot recommend the Beginner and Post-Beginner German courses enough. The courses delivered way beyond my expectations.  When I joined the beginner course, I expected to complete it, having enough knowledge and language skills to get by in future travels to Germany.

The dedication of the lecturer, and teaching methods used enabled me to feel comfortable conversing in German and understanding written text within a few months.  After completing the post-beginner course, my skills have improved so much that I am now confident that I can travel to Germany and be fairly fluent in a variety of circumstances. I am also confident that what I don’t understand, I can work out.

I expected to cover only the basics of German such as food, drink, weather etc but the course covered so much more such as travelling through train stations, airports, buying tickets, shopping, medical situations, festivals etc.

The course was so practical in delivering information on how locals behave and local dialects.

A bonus of attending the courses was the rapport with other students. Teaching methods employed helped the students build good relations with each other very quickly.

There were students of all ages and abilities in the class and teaching methods were so inclusive that everyone was made to feel valued.

I can’t wait to travel to Germany and put what I have learned in to practice.  I am so grateful for the experience of attending the classes, the commitment and friendly nature of the lecturer and the extensive knowledge I have gained'
