Level 5 Sound Production is an innovative, project-based course designed specifically to prepare you with the fundamental knowledge and skills to progress onto NC Level 6 Sound Production or Music. You will be taught by highly qualified, industry accredited lecturers and explore all areas of sound production from both a creative and technical perspective.
Through introductory classes you will develop fundamental skills and knowledge preparing you to progress. You will engage in studio practice and professional practice in recording, mixing, live sound, sound design, audio engineering and music for visual media.
Please make sure you read and complete the Pre-Interview Assignment that can be found under the Information on Tests/Auditions/Interview Requirements section. If for any reason you are not able to complete the assignment, please state this as part of your personal statement in your application.
- Four qualifications at SQCF Level 4 (including English, Maths and one subject related to Music/Sound Production)
- A basic understanding of sound production
How the course is assessed
- The course is mainly project based. You will be assessed continuously through a range of project and portfolio work.
