Course Overview

Events Co-ordination is an excellent introduction to the events industry. The course is designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills required for employment within the events sector at an operational or assistance level. Explore the world of events through a wide variety of subjects in marketing, events organisation and customer service. This is a practical and hands-on course where you will gain essential experience, discover dynamic skills and learn how the industry operates. You will attend guest lectures from the best in the business and go to events all over Edinburgh to gain an insight into the industry. Upon completion, you will be able to progress onto further study at HND level. This course will give you the competitive edge you will need when entering the world of work; either in an events environment or in other areas of employment.

Placement Information

  • Although there is not a mandatory work placement, you will be encouraged to seek work experience whilst studying this course and you will get the opportunity to assist with events held at Edinburgh College. 

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum 4 Standard Grades at 3 or above or 4 Intermediate 1s at A or B or 4 National 4s - one of which should be English

  • IELTS 5.5
How the course is assessed

  • You will be assessed through written and practical assignments throughout the year. 

Information on Test/Auditions/Interview Requirements

  • Applicants will be invited into College to attend information sessions - group tasks will be set and carried out during this time.
  • There are opportunities for applicants to speak to the lecturing team during the information session on a one to one basis.
