Audio Visual Technology HND is a unique course designed to teach you about the dynamic and cutting-edge developments within this creative industry. You will learn a wide set of employability and technical skills across various platforms and have access to Edinburgh College state-of-the-art broadcast media facilities including; TV studios, green-screen rooms and access to top-of-the-range cameras, microphones and recording equipment.
Explore the skills you will need to progress to a job as an audio-visual technician and learn how to provide technological, sound and visual support for various corporations. These skills can also be used to progress to a career in the film or TV sector. Edinburgh College has good relationships with a range of media companies and an integral part of the course is to do a work placement. This could be outside the college or with one of our commercial partnerships such as BBC, SMRC, Scottish Gymnastics, SWPL. Work placements give you the opportunity to develop and showcase your skills and build a CV and showreel which can be used to progress to employment or further study at a degree level.
You will be introduced to the audiovisual industry and learn skills in; Video Production, Lighting, Editing, Camera Operation and Sound, Television Production, Audio Visual Systems and Multimedia and Motion Graphics. Explore the different systems used in the audiovisual industry and produce creative and technically innovative projects as you complete units in Animation, Web Design and Sound.

- You will be assessed through both practical and written assignments

Entry requirements
- A minimum of two Highers at C or above (preferably in English, a Science or Mathematics) or successful completion of a relevant NC qualification at SCQF Level 6
