Course overview

This free 6-week course is for anyone interested in writing for the screen, whether it’s film, television or online production.

Perhaps you have a flair for writing and want to explore different forms and formats. Perhaps you have a passion for film and want to try writing your own screenplays that you can then film. You might be finding yourself using more online, audio-visual and social media as part of your existing job and want to hone your skills. Maybe you have a story you’re bursting to tell and think this is the perfect medium for it. Or maybe you just want to discover a new and fulfilling hobby.

This course will also appeal to anyone considering getting back into education after some time away, wanting to boost their CV, or looking for additional ways to enhance their application to university or college courses in related fields.

  • There are no set entry requirements, but good written English will be an advantage

Progression and Articulation Routes

The College offers a range of complimentary short courses you might want to consider after doing this course, such as Filmmaking for Screen, Beginners Cinematography and Intro to Editing.

With relevant qualifications you may also wish to consider a full-time course such as Film and Television NQ Level 6, HND Creative Industries: Television or HNC Media and Communication

Successful completion of the course may also support existing qualifications if applying to university in relevant subjects
