Course overview
This course is suitable if you work in a lead role supporting practitioners, such as a senior, supervisor or manager, in an early learning and childcare setting offering daycare for children or in a setting that supports children and young people with additional needs.
You should be involved in leading and supporting learning opportunities for the staff and children attending your setting. You will undertake a research project in an area of practice that you would like to improve and implement into your setting's operational plan to ensure you provide high-quality care. This course will also cover a wide range of relevant topics that will support you and help you take a lead role in your everyday practice.
This is a work-based qualification, you will be allocated an assessor who will work with you to gather evidence through your written work and your assessor's observations of practice, demonstrating your competencies against the National Occupational Standards.
The course runs over 18 months and includes a variety of learning opportunities, including: attending monthly classes in college, tutorial sessions with assessors, online learning and research.
The fee for this course is £1600, payable in two payments of £800 in Sept 2025 and Sept 2026. It's possible to use the SAAS part-time fee grant towards this if you meet the eligibility criteria. Part-time Funding Guide - SAAS.
