Course overview
This course is part of the Schools and College Partnership provision delivered by Edinburgh College. This course is for School Pupils only.
The course is designed to develop some of the essential skills and knowledge required for further study and to work in the fast-growing sectors of Early Learning & Childcare and Primary Teaching.
This course has been specifically designed to support students to develop a good underpinning knowledge of Child development and theories of development, along with providing a clear overview of how language, literacy and numeracy could be supported in an educational setting, and the key role that the adult plays in supporting this process. On completion of these units, along with Higher English, students will be entitled to study the HNC Childhood Practice practitioner award at Edinburgh College or may also use the solid foundations of what has been covered in this course to support an application for a primary school teaching qualification.
