Course overview

CODESPACE
A Bootcamp with a difference!
Many boot camps lack accessibility for many would-be applicants and you may feel you have done a college course or a degree in the past and you haven’t landed your dream job in tech yet.
That’s where Codespace comes in. We know computing is an aptitude, which means if you have looked at some code in the past, perhaps some HTML, CSS, and or some Python as a hobby or on a previous course, then that’s all you need to come on board, and we will help you in to your tech job.

This unique course blends together front and back-end development modules including programming, software testing, PostgreSQL, and more, with career support to get you into work.

After the 6 weeks, you will be ready to apply for a range of junior-level roles in Software and Web development at companies with many starting salaries at £25,000pa.

This unique curriculum has been informed by the Engineering team at 2i testing working alongside students from Edinburgh college.

2i is an inclusive employer that is breaking barriers in the software engineering industry by seeking out talented individuals from a range of backgrounds who don’t need to have a degree in computing to land jobs working in their Engineering team.

This unique collaboration with public sector education means we can financially support; those who find themselves under-employed who perhaps have an HNC/HND or degree already in a non-tech-related subject, women returning to work or upskilling, those from Black and Ethnic backgrounds, or those who want to change career.

Those changing careers or upskilling will find our prices competitive.

The course is delivered online with face-to-face tuition for 18 hours per week. We know it is difficult to juggle life and study, so we keep the course short and intensive at just 6 weeks, but to do this, means applicants need to be ready with some fundamentals skills, in basic, HTML, CSS, some Python programming and some SQL. The internet is a wealth of self-learning materials in these areas, as well as webinars and free courses through Eventbrite and meetup.

If you don’t feel you are ready to undertake Codespace and need a guiding hand through the fundamentals first, then we have a completely free induction course for you to help you know if coding and software engineering is the vocation for you. The free starter course is online, you can work through the materials at your own pace, and a tutor is provided for guidance.
