Our Commitments

We’re proud to work with organisations and initiatives that promote equality, inclusion, wellbeing and career development. These partnerships reflect our commitment to creating a fair, inclusive and supportive workplace where everyone can thrive.

Armed Forces Covenant

As a Silver Award holder under the Armed Forces Covenant, we are committed to supporting members of the Armed Forces community through a fair and inclusive recruitment process. If you meet the essential criteria for the role you have applied for, you will be guaranteed an interview if you are:

  • A current or former member of the UK Armed Forces (Regular or Reserve)
  • A UK Armed Forces Cadet or Cadet Adult Volunteer
  • A family member, including a bereaved family member, of someone who serves or has served in the UK Armed Forces

Care Experienced

As a Corporate Parent under the Children and Young People (Scotland) Act 2014, we are committed to supporting care-experienced people into employment. If you meet the essential criteria for the role you have applied for, you will be guaranteed an interview if you are care experienced. This includes people who have:

  • Been in foster care
  • Lived in a residential children’s home
  • Been looked after by a local authority
  • Lived in kinship care supported by social services
  • Been adopted from care

Care Positive Award

We are proud to be a Carer Positive employer and are committed to supporting colleagues with unpaid caring responsibilities, helping them balance work and caring commitments. Under this, a carer is defined as anyone who provides unpaid care to an ill, frail or disabled family member, friend or partner.

Disability Confident

As a Disability Confident Committed employer, we are committed to removing barriers to employment and providing an inclusive recruitment process. If you need reasonable adjustments at any stage, we will work with you to provide the support you need.

Equal Opportunities

We are committed to providing a fair, inclusive and accessible recruitment process. We welcome applications from people of all backgrounds and make recruitment decisions based on skills, experience and suitability for the role. As a college, we have also committed to implementing recruitment processes that proactively address imbalances in the workforce's ethnic profile at all levels.

SCQF Inclusive recruiter

As an SCQF Inclusive recruiter, we use SCQF levels instead of asking for specific qualifications where possible. This helps us to attract a wider range of candidates and recognise skills and experience gained through different qualifications and career pathways.
