Studying in Edinburgh

As a city, Edinburgh has it all – stunning architecture, abundant parks, state-of-the-art sports facilities, world-famous museums, galleries and theatres, and a lively social scene.

Bright fireworks against a dark blue sky and Edinburgh's skyline.

As an international student city (around 15% of the 500,000 inhabitants are students) good value accommodation, including homestay and halls, is easy to find as well as plenty of shops and supermarkets catering to all international needs. Edinburgh's compact size also means students can travel around easily, cheaply and safely. The city offers excellent transport networks as well as direct links to many other cities throughout the UK, Europe and globally.

As the 'City of Festivals', Edinburgh buzzes throughout the year - hosting international film and music festivals, as well as the world's largest arts and dance festival in August during our English Language Summer School, attracting tens of thousands of people from around the world and doubling the city's population in the process – not to be missed!

For students looking for some peace and quiet, a short train journey will take them to some of the most beautiful beaches in Europe and the most stunning mountainous landscapes.
