Edinburgh College continues to expand its PDVL partnership across Asia

Edinburgh College is continuing to expand its PDVL (The Prince's Foundation) programme across Asia after securing a number of new international partnerships with schools in Indonesia and Taiwan.

Representatives from the College recently travelled to Asia to further develop its PDVL programme, formalising partnerships and signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with three schools in Indonesia. They then travelled to Taiwan, where they signed MoUs with a further ten partner schools, further strengthening collaboration and creating new opportunities for students to study at the College.

The College became a delivery partner for the PDVL programme in 2025, with the aim of providing a focused pre-university pathway for international students that combines academic study with English language development and study skills, preparing them for progression to higher education. Students also benefit from established progression routes through PDVL's articulation agreements with universities, supporting their onward academic journeys.

The College welcomed its first cohort in 2026, with students from China, Malaysia, Indonesia and Uzbekistan enrolling on the Business pathway programme. Students from this inaugural PDVL cohort have received offers from a number of UK universities, including Russell Group institutions such as the University of Southampton, the University of Glasgow, Newcastle University, the University of Sheffield, Queen’s University Belfast and the University of Leeds.

From next year onwards, the PDVL programme will be expanded further to offer a new Science pathway – further enhancing the opportunities available to international students looking to move on to further study in Scotland’s capital city. Applications for both the Science and Business pathways are now open and prospective students can apply on the PVDL website.

Neale Gardiner, Director of Income and Partnerships at Edinburgh College, said:

“It was great to visit Indonesia and Taiwan this summer to witness our 2026 Prince Foundation students graduate from their programme and connect with new partner schools across the region with a view to welcoming more students to Edinburgh in the coming years ahead.

“Building on the success of this year's Business pathway, we’re delighted to be launching a new Science pathway next year, broadening opportunities for students who aspire to study internationally.

“These partnerships are making a real difference, and we look forward to growing our involvement in the PDVL Prince Foundation programme as we continue to expand Edinburgh College's global reach.”

David Low, Managing Director of PDVL Overseas Advisory Sdn Bhd, said:

"It is fantastic to see our partnership with Edinburgh College going from strength to strength. Witnessing our students graduate this year and signing new MoUs across Indonesia and Taiwan is a testament to the hard work of all involved.

“We are incredibly excited to launch the new Science pathway for 2027, as it significantly broadens the academic opportunities for our students and continues our shared commitment to global education."

Established in 2013 and led by PDVL Global, The Prince Programme is a world-class foundation course designed for students aged 16 and above. This forms part of PDVL’s One Foundation Global Pathway, with Edinburgh College recognised as one of its flagship campuses.
