Course overview
This 18-week interactive course has been designed to give you an excellent introduction to the events and hospitality industry. It is designed to develop customer service and organisational skills, discover dynamic employability subjects, and enhance your career prospects. Students will also participate in industry visits.
You will also be involved in hosting events and gaining practical work experience in our Student Cafes, which provide a realistic working environment and assist you with employment.
Placement information
- You will work alongside our staff in catering cafes and college restaurants, giving you hands-on experience working in a realistic environment.
How the course is assessed
- You will be assessed through a variety of practical and written assignments
Number of days per week
- 2 / 3 days per week (maximum of 16 hours)
Entry requirements
- Have a minimum of four Level 3 and Level 4 qualifications.
- You must be able to work at SCQF Level 4.
- Have an interest in working within the events and hospitality Industry.
- Demonstrate good communication skills.

- This course is designed as an employability and employer-led course and would not usually lead to progression onto a higher-level course.
