Course overview

This 18-week interactive course has been designed to give you an excellent introduction to the Events, Hospitality, and Travel industry. It is designed to develop customer service and organisational skills, discover dynamic employability subjects, and enhance your career prospects. Students will also participate in industry visits.

You will also be involved in hosting events and gain practical work experience in our Student Cafes to provide a realistic working environment and assist them with employment.

Placement information

  • You will work alongside our staff in catering cafes and college restaurants, gaining hands-on experience in a realistic environment.

 

How the course is assessed

  • You will be assessed through a variety of practical and written assignments.

Number of days per week

  • 2 / 3 days per week (maximum of 16 hours).

Entry requirements

  • Have a minimum of four National 3 and one National 4 qualification.
  • Have an interest in working within the events, hospitality and travel industry.
  • Demonstrate good communication skills.

  • You will attend an information session after your application to discuss the course and have the chance to ask any additional questions.

Progression and Articulation Routes

  • This course is designed as an employability and employer-led course. On completion, you can progress to our January Level 4 course.
  • Students' previous qualifications and individual performance on this course will be considered if students wish to progress.
