Course overview

We run two HNCs in Television at the College: HNC Television with Multicamera Operations and HNC Television and Film.

Both cover a similar range of knowledge and skills and will equip you for a future in Television. Each has a slightly different focus.

The HNC in Television with Multicamera Operation covers single-camera production, multi-camera studio production and live broadcasting. If you want to work on big Saturday night live entertainment shows, magazine shows, game shows, discussion shows, lifestyle shows, sports programmes or cultural event broadcasting, this is the one to pick. It will give you an essential grounding in the knowledge and skills required, will teach you workflow, process and procedure, and, you will learn about the different job roles on programmes like these and how they interact with one another. You will learn about formats, and audience engagement and explore what makes event television and still has to power to create water-cooler talking points.
