EC Students’ Association set up campus foodbank donation points

EC Students' Association has teamed up with the Edinburgh Food Project and the Trussell Trust to create campus donation points for their foodbanks.

Each campus will have a donation point near reception where staff and students can donate dry goods which will then be collected and made up into food parcels.

Items that the foodbanks accept include:

  • Rice/pasta
  • Long life milk
  • Soup/beans
  • Jams/spreads
  • Ready meals
  • Biscuits/sweets/chocolate
  • Tea/coffee/hot chocolate (powder)/sugar
  • Shampoo/shower gel
  • Toothpaste
  • Tinned desserts
  • Cereals
  • Household cleaning products
  • Tinned meat/fish
  • Tinned vegetables
  • Tinned hot meals

By entering this partnership, EC Students’ Association hopes to not only alleviate food poverty, but remove stigma around using foodbanks by bringing to light the amazing work they do in our communities.

As well as food packages, foodbanks offer services including debt advice, mental health support and benefits guidance. Visit the Edinburgh Food Project and the Trussell Trust to find out more.

The College and our Students’ Association is grateful for any donations made by students and staff.
