Course overview
This course has been developed to provide a basic understanding of Human Resource Management (HRM), as well as the administration and IT skills and knowledge required for further study and employment. A basic understanding of the law and administration may also enhance your career prospects. On successful completion, you can progress to a level 6 relevant course commencing in August/September 2027. On completion of your level 6 course, you can study a relevant HNC in the following term.
- Develop your knowledge and understanding of the role of an HRM advisor
- Develop IT and office skills
- Provide you with the opportunity to develop relevant Core Skills for HRM and administration-related occupations, as well as for further study.
- Prepare you for entry into related HN programmes.

How the course is assessed
Each subject will have different evidence requirements and assessment approaches.

- Open Book
- Exam – Closed-book controlled

Entry requirements
- Candidates will be considered on an individual basis
- A minimum of three relevant National 4s (must include English and Maths/Numeracy)

- Any relevant National Qualifications Group Award at SCQF level 4 or 5 (including Comms/Numeracy)
