The Dance Teaching in Schools (SCQF level 8) course is specifically designed for Secondary school teachers who currently deliver NPA through to Higher Dance qualifications and require SCQF credits at level 8, having previously completed the Dance Teaching in Schools (SCQF level 7) course.
The course will consist of four units: Dance Technique (Jazz and Contemporary), Advanced Choreography and Dance Contextual Studies.
This combination of practical and theoretical units will help teachers in schools develop their dance skills and enhance teaching with a particular focus on NPA and Higher Dance qualifications.
The cost for this course is £750

- Jazz Dance Techniques 2 (H4RM 35)
This part-time course will be delivered in person, with practical sessions and online/distance learning modes. This will include regular one-day intensives and monthly Friday afternoon sessions on campus at Edinburgh College. This will be supplemented with online seminars and online learning materials. The course is designed to work around your school teaching commitments.
How the course is assessed
- The assessments for the course will include both practical (dance technique and choreography) and academic submissions.

Entry requirements
- Current teacher in a Secondary School with a focus on PE or Drama who has already achieved the Dance Teaching in Schools (SCQF level 7) qualification.
