The PDA in Promoting Excellence in Dementia Skilled Practice at SCQF level 7 is a qualification designed for health and social care support workers and practitioners who have direct and/or substantial contact with people with Dementia and their families and carers, to develop the knowledge and skills required to carry out their duties.
It is suitable for:
- Those who wish to enhance their career prospects in health and social care
- CPD for those currently employed in the sector
Placement information
- There is no placement element to this course. Candidates will, however, need to be in a role where they are caring for people with Dementia.
How the course is assessed
- The course is assessed through a variety of summative written assessments and workplace assessments, including observation, witness testimony, and reflection.
Number of days per week
- One day per week online.
- The course will be delivered through a combination of online classroom teaching, one-on-one support, and self-directed study.
- 18-week course
Entry requirements
- You must be able to demonstrate the ability to work at SCQF level 7.
- You will also need to be in a role where you are caring for people with dementia, as a demonstration of knowledge through practice is required for the SVQ unit.
