Welcome to CodeSpace – the flexible, accessible, and career-focused tech bootcamp brought to you by Edinburgh College in partnership with 2i Testing. If you’re ready to launch a career in tech but need a program that fits around your life, CodeSpace is the perfect place to start.

- Learn at Your Pace: Our flexible program is designed to fit into your life. You’ll commit just 18 hours per week over seven weeks, with the option to study from home. Whether you’re working, caring for family, or managing other responsibilities, CodeSpace is built to work around you.
Affordable and Accessible Education
We’re committed to making tech education accessible to everyone. That’s why we offer free or heavily subsidised tuition for most learners. Here’s how it works:
- Discounted Tuition: If you’ve lived in the UK for at least three years and aren’t currently enrolled in another course, you may qualify for discounted tuition.
- Free Tuition: To qualify for free tuition, you need to meet these criteria:
Lived in Scotland for at least three years.
Not currently studying or enrolled in another course.
Live in southeast Scotland (Edinburgh, Borders, Fife, or the Lothians).
Belong to one or more groups:
Earn less than £24,000 per year or are unemployed.
Women.
People with disabilities.
Individuals from a minority ethnic background.
Neurodivergent
- The course is project-driven, and you build a dynamic database-driven web application as a portfolio for interviews.
- There are also smaller projects along the way
- Technologies include: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, SQL, Cypress and more.
- The curriculum is subject to minor changes to stay industry-relevant.
Career skills include:
- Workplace collaboration
- CV and portfolio guidance
- Mock Interview
- Interview technique
- Boardroom skills
- Tackling imposter syndrome (everybody has it)
- Addressing anxiety and improving confidence
How the course is assessed
- Through activities and building your projects.
Number of days per week
- 3 days per week, 18 hours per week course and you will need some homework time put aside as well.
- Note the course does not run during the academic holiday weeks.
- Sessions are recorded to aid those who need flexible attendance.
Entry requirements
- You will need some experience in HTML, CSS, SQL, and JavaScript to join the course. This can be shown through a portfolio on GitHub to be reviewed by the academic team.

- Ideally, candidates will have an SCQF level 7 or above qualification already, but it doesn't have to be in a computing subject.
- You need a keen interest and drive to want to do the course and gain employment in the industry.
English Proficiency Requirements
IELTS 5.5 but recommend higher.Progression and Articulation Routes
- This course is designed for learners to gain employment.
- But you can look to join other Computing courses in Software or Web development at Edinburgh College once you complete this bootcamp.
Career options
- In to employment in Software Engineering in a junior or higher role, depending on your other general workplace skills and experience.
