Course overview
Discover the world of software development as you are introduced to core industry concepts and skills in web and software development. This course is designed to serve as a progression towards further study in specialist web development or Software development courses at the college.
You will gain an up-to-date award taught by industry-experienced College lecturers and learn a diverse range of knowledge in computer programming for apps using Python or JavaScript, as well as web development with HTML and CSS. As part of the course, you will build your own website and App.

How the course is assessed
- Practical projects and some multiple-choice tests.
Number of days per week
- Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.
Entry requirements
- National 5 Maths, English and science-related subject (National 5 Applications to Mathematics is acceptable).
- Consideration will still be given to all those who do not meet these exact qualifications by way of completing a screening activity at Edinburgh College to establish eligibility.
