Sign up to British Esports Rocket Spring League

Edinburgh College students are invited to take part in the British Esports Rocket Spring League which starts this January and takes place until June.

Edinburgh College’s Computing department are looking for students across all course areas to take part in the competition, where they will have the chance to go up against teams from across the country to compete for the Spring League title.

The only requirement to take part in the competition is the willingness to be part of a team and to work together to do your best to represent the college. All ages, gender and skill levels are welcome to be involved.

Edinburgh College has a history of performing well in Esports competitions, with College teams winning the inaugural Scottish College Cup in 2020 and then following that up in the 2021 competition to win the title for the second year in a row.

On the strength of that victory, the College is now entering the Spring Division tournament, which will take place as part of a league format which will last from Monday 24 January through to the Grand Finals in June.

Edinburgh College Computing curriculum manager Sam Blyth said: “We are actively seeking more students to take part across two teams of five student which will help grow and develop Edinburgh College's eSport presence.”

“We aim to have all participants play and practice together, building up good teamwork and developing skills and friendships to make sure the great success of the eSports team is continued, making Edinburgh College a strong force in all competitions we enter.”
