What is Clearing?
What is clearing?
Clearing is the process through which you can apply to courses that still have available places.
If a course at college still has spots available, this is another opportunity for students to apply to study.
Reasons you might apply to a course through clearing
- The original application deadline has passed, and you have decided you want to apply to study
- You didn’t meet the requirements for the course you originally applied for
- You didn’t receive any offers after the first application deadline
- You have changed your mind about the course you were planning to study
How does clearing work?
Clearing can work in a few different ways, depending on your situation. If you have not applied to a course, have not met your entry requirements, or are looking to switch from one Edinburgh College course to another through clearing, all of this can be done by contacting our team directly.
If you have confirmed a place at another college or university and would like to apply for a place at Edinburgh College instead, you will need to contact your original choice to ask that they release you.
For all of these options, the best thing to do is to contact us so that we can help guide you through the steps you need to take. Call our clearing hotline on 0131 297 8500 or email us directly at firstname.lastname@example.org.
