Free Lateral Flow Tests Now Available From the College

Edinburgh College is now providing free, rapid and easy-to-use COVID-19 tests (lateral flow tests) for students and staff to test themselves at home before coming on to a campus.

From today, Monday 10 May 2021, these tests are available for students and staff that are required to come onto campus for learning and teaching.

Students and staff can collect Lateral Flow Tests from campus receptions and are encouraged to test two times per week at home prior to coming on to campus, to help keep themselves, their families, their classmates and college staff safe from COVID-19.

While these tests are voluntary, we encourage students and staff who do not have symptoms of COVID-19, and are required to come on to campus, to use these easy-to-use tests at home.

If you have symptoms or think you might have COVID-19, you must not come on to campus and you should arrange to have a different type of test, known as a PCR test. A PCR test can be carried out at a local testing centre or you can have these delivered to your home address, along with instructions on how to use the test and an envelope to return the test to a laboratory. Find out more on the NHS Test and Protect website.

Full information on Lateral Flow Tests at Edinburgh College and the process for collecting test kits can be found on the Lateral Flow Tests Information Sheet.
